Much respect for Peter’s unwavering efforts to draw attention to and analyze the horrors that have been inflicted on the Palestinian people for decades. What impresses me most in his well-documented and clear writing is a deep love for humanity.

I’m sorry..I didn’t complete my comment. The recent book “One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This. “. It really complements Peter’s. What Israel is doing now to the Palestinians is even worse than what the US did to the Vietnamese, which was horrific. And they can’t do it without full US support. The ICC should also indict Biden and Trump for wars crimes.

I’ve recently read two very important books about Gaza: Peter’s book and one by Omar El Akkad, “One Day, Everyone Will Always

Last night, I watched the interview with Olmert, and now listened to Peter's very short account of the terror that the people of Ghaza continue suffer. The gulf between Olmert's understanding of the reality in Israel-Palestine and the simple facts of death and suffering as listed by Peter is really a dark abyss. Last night, I actually thought I would listen to the interview a second time just to make sure I would understand all the points Olmert was making. But after listening to Peter's terrifying accounting of the deaths in Ghaza, I can't listen once more to the grandfatherly tone of someone who acts as if he is just kindly putting up with your arguments, talking down to your serious and informed questions.

Peter, I thank you for your persistence and patience and I certainly admired you as were keeping your cool as Olmert talked down to you from his imagined superiority. Thank you for holding the light of truth into the dark abyss of deliberate misinformation.

As long as Israel has the support of the United States and a worldwide failure to object to its nuclear warheads it has no reason to change its behavior.

I have such respect for this man's sense of humanity.

How can our world turn away from the brutality and utter depravity that we get a glimpse of on a daily basis? I just do not understand.

Most of the holidays my Jewish, Zionist in-laws observe commizarate Jewish suffering,; hannukak, purim, passover. I've asked them as they refuse to speak out against that slaughter should in the near future we have a special holiday to remember those killed in Gaza in the name of Zionism?

Dear Peter-

Thank you so much for bringing these hours to light. It's impossible to understand how after years of "Never Again", it's allowed to happen. I've heard some argue that "Never Again" is meant to mean "no Jewish slaughter again" so protecting Palestinian's is not 'our' fight. How abhorrent. I've attached a poem that my wife Michal wrote this morning. She's communicated with you over the years and plans to send you a book she just published, in fact she's publishing a book of poetry in collaboration with the Gazan poet mentioned here. Thank you for your courage.

Yazan's mother counts his bones (In response to my colleague and friend Basman('s) poem-the gasoline of humanity july 25 2025)

I sit with the words that rain on moist South-Carolina-soil

as rain floods and tangles letters that no longer sprout and

unformed words are lost in the puddles of flailing, lost inside

the threshing of my privileged safety

I reach in my mind to Naeema, the blessed, contented, fortunate,

her name says,

she holds her son, Yazan, the determined or the one who weighs,

his names says,

and the blessed counts with her fingers the 2-year-old bones

of the one who weighs, the one who balances,

who does not weigh much anymore

Yazan’s mother’s fingers count his two-year-old bones

two years in the world of bombs

two years on an angry shaking earth

that swallows loads of signed bombs

two years under smoke-filled sky

two years of stunted bones

being counted with a mother’s fingers

and the “Never Again” is followed by “this is not the same as”

while watching Yazan’s bones

protrude

while watching Yazan’s bones

protest

while watching his weightless body

mingled with our silence

Thanks, Peter. Not to devalue crying and praying, but that's what we are left with. What a "civilized society" we live in!

I was impacted by your reporting here. My question is- what can an average American do? Or better said- what moved the relevant publics+ in South Africa, Ireland, Israel to demand change? I’m not sure what to do with “in previous times atrocities were addressed.”

Orange Cheeto and Christian Nationalism

Cheeto told a prayer breakfast audience today that he’s ready to get rid of the separation of Church and State, a defining principle of the US Constitution Now meet David Barton who has built a multimillion-dollar media and lobbying operation to influence public opinion and shape laws around the belief that the United States was founded as a Judeo-Christian nation, supporting the Christian Nationalist movement(CNM)

Texas, along with Arkansas and Louisiana, has in the last two years passed a law requiring that the Ten Commandments be posted in public schools and Barton has become “the granddaddy of Christian nationalist disinformation,” constitutional attorney Andrew Seidel, who serves as vice president of strategic communications at Americans United for Separation of Church and State And as the far right has adapted to Barton’s message a well financed network called the WallBuilders funding state legislative efforts to push the CNM agenda

But this school push for 10 Commandments in the classroom has developed into a movement of coercion, forcing the concept that America is a “Christian” nation to the exclusion of other recognized religions, that is, how America should be rather than what it wants to be

As Hitler said in 1929, “We tolerate no one in our ranks who attacks the ideals of Christianity. Our movement is Christian.”

And although separation of Church and State is at stake here, the movement has everything to do with gaining a portal of entry for Cheeto’s Nazi driven Christian Nationalist movement that the right has supported with the likes of Viktor Orban, Hungary’s dictator who has visited CPAC a couple of times and been a keynote speaker The Project 2025 playbook is to get the government to become a Christian Nationalist movement attendant with all its agenda including doing away with Women’s Reproductive Rights and abortion
