Thank you Peter for that interview with Jim Zogby. We learned so much that is essential to our understanding of the mechanisms that favour the continuation of this terrible war.
A very interesting, worthwhile conversation with, for me, an extremely disappointing conclusion regarding the impending presidential election. Jim Zogby is entirely dismissive of Jill Stein, the only candidate with rock-solid moral and ethical credentials, who he casts aside in favor of voting for Harris. Harris and Biden have brought us to our current appalling genocide in Gaza - and now the Israeli onslaught in Lebanon - and we have Harris's assurance that while the horrors the Palestinians are enduring at the hands of Israel make her sad, she is utterly and permanently committed to supporting Israel's actions no matter how heinous or how criminal they may be. Yes, it is shocking that Stefanik and others of her ilk are allowed to interrogate, judge, and ultimately force out educators they deem antisemitic, but what has the Democratic party and Democratic leadership done to make such activities impossible? Both the Democratic and the Republican leadership groups are filled with neoliberals and neoconservatives - ideologies which are the ruination of the world - to the point where there is barely any distinction between them. We stand on the knife's edge of a collapsing world and Mr. Zogby can only tell us to vote for someone who has been, and will continue to be, a leading part of a horrendous and worsening problem. He seems admirable in many ways, but so disappointing finally.
