I started writing this newsletter and hosting these Zoom calls because I was frustrated with a lot of what I read about American foreign policy in general and Israel-Palestine in particular. I don’t think the US possesses any inherent right to run the world. If America wants moral authority, it must earn it. And I believe that the best way to secure the safety of the Jewish people, my people, is through equality and justice for Palestinians. I hope these principles foster a different kind of conversation. And I hope you’ll join in.

Recent commentary by Peter

In August 2022, I wrote an essay for The New York Times about how the fight against antisemitism, as waged by the American government and establishment Jewish organizations, often threatens human rights.

In May 2021, I wrote a longform essay for Jewish Currents entitled, “Teshuvah: A Jewish Case for Palestinian Refugee Return.” It asked how, given our history, Jews can deny another people the right to come home.

In July 2020, I published a longform essay for Jewish Currents. Entitled, “Yavne: A Jewish Case for Equality in Israel-Palestine,” it lays out the case for one democratic, binational state.

I am a contributor to MSNBC. In July, I spoke to Mehdi Hasan about Joe Biden’s trip to Saudi Arabia https://www.msnbc.com/the-mehdi-hasan-show/watch/why-will-biden-willingly-meet-saudi-crown-prince-144012869830
