I would take competence and seriousness of purpose in my political leaders over popularity any day. The hypocrisy of the Republican criticism of her over the years was exposed by the admiring editorial that the Wall Street Journal wrote the other day after she announced her decision. I would be embarrassed if I were ever to eat my words like that. Shame on them.
As a woman scientist who attained the highest professional ranking, I think that women just need to say that people don't have to like them, it's enough they respect them
